The Pedro Nunes Institute, partner of the project, has organized the monitoring meeting of the ESMIMET project in Coimbra, financed by the European Union through the POCTEP program.

The partners shared the progress made so far in the geographical scope of the development of the project and marked the steps for the following actions.

This project aims to create a global strategy around metal mining in Castilla y León and the central and northern areas of Portugal. This strategy includes:

• Study of the present and future potential of metallic mining.
• Configuration of the work network and the corresponding technologies that will be applied.
• Development of R&D&i activities related to exploitation and processing techniques.
• Development of R&D&i activities related to environmental and energy techniques.
